I always promised myself when I started 365DOT that I would do my best to be real, authentic and original- all while maintaining personal creativity and unique point of view. I wanted to somehow emulate what other bloggers do so well- without falling into what for me is a personal unreality of centering my life around beauty products, special events and manufactured hashtags. So for me that meant that instead of September being a launch into fall fashion Dos and Don’ts and pumpkin themed DIYs- I would utilize the month to do some serious personal restructuring, mentally, spiritually and even physically, with my possessions and life organization. Getting out of the habit of obsessively doing a lot of things half way, and learning to slow down a little bit and put in the organization to do things right. I’m not sure if I “slowed down” exactly, but I stepped back- and now I’m so excited to step back in on all levels of life.

So what happened to September? Well, right before it even started I had Attended a private wedding on a Monday, been on Talk of the Town showcasing my thrifted makeovers on a Tuesday and done some late night underwater art modeling and film making on a Sunday with the brilliant Christy Lee Rogers. So I guess you could say I was off to a good start. ♥

On the first Saturday of the month- I took my two year old friend Londyn and her parents on the most action packed night ever, eating delicious organic burgers from the Hoss food truck at Live on The Green then checking out all of the beautiful art at the Downtown Nashville Art Crawl and topping off the night with Ben Harper Live (Did I mention I’ve been in love with him since I was 19)

Then there was that week in the middle where I dedicatedly wore elastic waste denim for 1 straight week while pledging my allegiance to the brilliant styling of the Canadian Tuxedo for even longer. If you follow me on Snapchat (britelightfire) you might recall the week that I ate my homemade gluten free waffles in my car every day while listening to ironic eighties hits.

I ended off the month shooting several fun looks for the Goodwill SS17 campaign, stumbling upon an abandoned house while dressed like a doll for an audition (more about that tomorrow) and then witnessing the dawn in a secret forest by Percy Priest lake with my talented friend Chris Daniels– doing beautiful portraits for his incredible: Project 104.

Like I said- I’m not sure I slowed down, but for me- It was a slower month, as far as my personal projects are concerned, so after taking some time to focus, grow and regroup, I’m bursting at the seams with purpose, ideas and creativity, and cannot wait to bring you all along with me. Here’s to October friends!

Love and Thrift,
Elisabeth
